Help our voices to be heard. Advocate for FKES with Montgomery County Public Schools(MCPS) and Montgomery County leaders. Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA) is a group that unifies all of us in Montgomery County. Attend MCPS Board Meetings, go to our Northwood Cluster meetings or go to advocacy days in Annapolis. There are many ways that you can make a difference for our school.
Collecting Box Tops is a free and easy way to earn money for our school. We typically raise $700 or more for our school, but it could be so much more! We need help to collect, count, and ship out Box Tops. Checks arrive twice a year. Contact Monica Taylor if you want to help.
FKES has earned a Green School certification. Support FKES in maintaining its outdoor classrooms and environmental education programs.
Nature Trail Friends
Connect the Forest Knolls community to nature—and inspire conservation action—through well-planned, educational landscaping projects that utilize natural, native materials and contribute to well-functioning ecosystems. Join us for monthly Saturday mornings when we work to maintain our very own Nature Trail.
Parent Mentoring Program
A program to pair new parents with parents who have been in the FKES community for several years.
Room Parents provide wonderful support to our classroom teachers. Help coordinate class parties, gift giving, the ability to contact all families in a class, and more.
Room Parent Coordination
Betty Batty is our Room Parent Coordinator this year. If you have any questions, please contact her!
School Improvement Team
A group of teachers, administrators, and parents that analyze the overall success of the school, and take action to improve our great school. Parents act as liaisons between students, the PTA, parents, and the faculty/staff.
Ensure the safety of our children during drop-off each and every morning of the school year. Pick one morning a week when you can help open car doors with a cheery good morning and get everyone's day off to a great start.
A new committee this year that wants to help everyone in our FKES community to be healthier. Learn about healthy menu choices, recreation and even help plan a Family Wellness Event for the spring of 2016.
