African American Heritage Month Committee
In lieu of an evening event this year, the African American Heritage Month Committee has elected to donate books and other educational materials to the school in support of the February 23rd African American Heritage Literature Read-In and classroom libraries. If you are interested in helping plan an African American Heritage Night for the 2018-2019 school year, please let any PTA board member know. We welcome all volunteers!
Award-Winning Children's Author to visit FKES! - Tuesday, March 6th, 7-8:30pm (All-Purpose Room)
Award-winning author Chris Barton presents: "Write What You'd Love to Learn." He will talk about his work as an author of both fiction and nonfiction children's books. He'll also read one of his books and then use it as a jumping-off point for an age-appropriate discussion of research and/or revision. There will also be time for audience questions and book sales for anyone who wants to get an autographed copy. Pizza Bingo/Silent Auction - Friday, March 17th, 5:30-8pm in the Northwood High School Cafeteria
Pizza Bingo, this year aptly named 'Luck of the Mustangs' is an annual family-friendly evening of dinner, silent auction, bingo, crafts and community, directly benefiting the children of Forest Knolls Elementary School.
